A little inkling love still flips you like a piledriver. This is the blue mats we used at tumbling school sound. The rhythm of the tumble dryer turning over. This is the dry heat come-to sound of tunes. Used my head like a rubber stamp to score the thumping pulse in ink. Cartoon graphic bees and hummingbirds, sparrows, butterflies with pastry powder grimace disguises piled eight or nine into shiny little convertibles, el caminos, momma's hatchback doing giddy donuts under spinning skies of fizzy stars. This is my head, the smallest planet. This is the color jelly of minor concussion but no big deal head wound sound of songs. This is the clown creature of fluid limits. The shadows and trailing shimmers in foggy vision. These are the welts and grown features of mutant lemons. The pop of changing pressure in the skull. Fragrant yellow peel and pith and then trapped inside there's a ripening brain. These fill up like water balloons full of tears and drop onto the driveway. This is the smoosh of them. This is the tire tread kissed smile of smeared mind. Bright lemon yellow, brain matter and pumping blood. This is the can't catch me now sound of living signal. Thought you said, "single." This is the tank top painting show. This show has characters from other shows just crammed happily in, cuz we're all headed to the same place anyway and who's keeping count at this late point. Can't feel my legs with another adult body in my lap, but no biggie we land outside the spot sooner than later and spill from the back seat like canned laughter. "This old thing?" Didn't think the joke was all that funny, but per usual-- the dupes in the studio audience never can contain themselves. Anyway, this is the darling face behind a leering mask. The cranberry sauce sliced with the can lid. These are some echoes that last, splashing after a vanishing smile of planned evening.
